Feeding problem horses |

It is often said that the best horses are always the ones that go lame before a competition, get tangled up in a horseproof fence or get sick every time you have a breakthrough in training. These are the frustrating horses, the horses always a little uneven, always hard to put weight on, or to achieve that nice round rump or shoulder. And of course as their owners we are always searching for the wonder product to sort out the issues. So you think you have one of these wonderful horses? Well below are some common problem horses and with them, a suggested diet to assist you find the balance that works for them. You may use these diets on your horse if the description is similar but as all horses are unique you may need to alter the diet a little. If you are unsure please visit our Free Advice page. 1. TB x 6 years old, 15.3hh used for dressage and showjumping. Often goes lame for no reason, coat and skin are not up to scratch
2. QH x 8 years old, 14.3hh used for trail riding. Horse is always bordering on founder but has bad muscle definition.
3. TB 5 years old, 16.2hh show horse off the track. Putting on weight in the belly but no topline. Feeding a lot of feed and getting nowhere.
4. WB 5 years old, 17.2hh eventing horse. Hates travelling, sweats and so is a little nervous at shows.
5. Welsh Pony x 9 years old, 13.2hh pony club. Has started bucking and seems angry.
