Jess Smart

My name is Jess Smart and I have been a HiForm ambassador for about two or three years now after using the HiForm products for over ten years previously.

I have been riding since for about 22 years, and have ridden both English and Western disciplines, however, I have predominantly ridden western horses in cutting, cow-horse, ranch versatility and other western performance disciplines for the last 10 years.

I currently have two of my own beautiful Quarter Horses in work, Rusty and Dodger.

Rusty is a 19 year old cutting horse, he has been with me for nearly 7 years and in that time we have competed in a large variety of events, including the Australia’s Greatest Horsewoman event at Tatura in 2023, where we made the Top Ten finals and placed 8th overall.

Most recently Rusty and I attended at the Ranch Horse Association National show at Scone NSW, in October 2024. Rusty competed in the All Age (Open) category, and won the overall All Age National Highpoint award, which I consider to be our greatest achievement together.

Rusty is very much a versatile horse and enjoys working cattle, bush riding and most importantly eating his tucker.

Dodger is my baby, he is 4 years old and I’ve had him since he was a yearling. I’ve gradually started Dodger myself in the time that I’ve had him and he is developing into the most kind, sensible young horse I’ve had the pleasure of riding and showing. He’s had very limited show experience, having been to local RHAA versatility shows in the last 6 months where he is showing lots of promise as a ranch horse. My plans with Dodger include having a crack at campdrafting, and getting him to some larger RHAA events where he can show his aptitude for cattle events on the big stage, but in our down-time we love a good bush ride and some exploring.

All of my horses are always fed Proflamaid Plus and depending on workload, either Oxydane or Completavite at a minimum, alongside their HiForm Complete feeds.

Proflamaid Plus has been a staple in my horse pantry for over ten years and I won’t go without it. It is unmatched in my opinion for supporting my horses’ joints and muscles, particularly Rusty as he ages (he stills travels around the show-pen just as he did 6 years ago).
