Marty Bryson
My discipline is endurance predominantly however, I have dabbled in classical dressage for a number of years which balances beautifully with endurance.
I have been riding since I was 2 years old, I did a short stint in showing, but always loved getting out into the bush and riding for kilometers mostly by myself. I would be gone from dawn to dusk in summertime. I really loved the partnership with my horse and the adventure we would share together.
We own 10 horses and 1 mini, the 10 horses are all endurance prospects and Arabian or derivative. The mini is a project that I want to break to cart and have as a part of my AEFL therapy pony team one day.
My greatest achievements are placing 6th MW at Tasmania Scottsdale Tom Quilty Gold Cup 160km, which is our Endurance National Championship, 9th over the line out of 141 competitors and only 81 getting to complete.
Competing for Australia at the Trans Tasman in NZ, unfortunately my horse went lame on the first leg.. I withdrew however, Going through the selection process was a great learning experience.
I was fortunately invited back to compete at the South Island championships where I rode a horse for Holly Farm and we won the FEI race.
A wonderful joint achievement was my horse winning national points which was a great team effort with my husband. My other achievement was breeding a horse who won a 122km race in the UAE.
My goals going forward are to compete on our own home bred horses and to be just as successful.
My favourite Hi Form product is Herbanerve as it’s easy to administer to the food and the horses love it, the results are incredible for nervous Nelly’s!! My other one is Proflamaid plus, as it’s an amazing proactive measure looking after the joints with the amount of concussive work we do.
We choose Hi Form products because we trust that they are what they say they are, Natural, human grade with no nasties. There’s nothing worse than feeding something with the best intentions to only find out it’s not what you thought. So we confidence and piece of mind knowing what we are feeding is what it states. I like to add, that Hi Form are proactive with their products and ambassadors, meaning they’re open to feedback and are proactive about our horses health so thank you HiForm and your team for prioritizing our horse health for superior functionality and optimum performance. Endurance isn’t for the faint hearted it’s a tough gig and our horses need to be spot on with their nutrition otherwise it show through the cracks and performance will wain.
