NUTRITION TIPS
We are what we eat
The old saying ‘we are what we eat’ is so true and becoming more obvious as we learn more. Advancements made with genetics and the Epigenome have discovered that genes are responsible for approximately 5-10% of diseases in both humans and animals and the rest of the animal and human population are Genetically healthy. But what does affect ours and our horse’s gene expression is diet, environment, the air we breathe, toxins, quality of water and stress. There are many disorders that can be caused by a number of these factors. So nutrition has a huge bearing on the health and well-being of all living beings. We can actually make a difference in the reduction of diseases in horses by changing a number of factors and we will then end up with a far healthier animal.
