Mishel Metcalf
Position: Operations Manager
Qualifications: Diploma Equine Nutrition at the NCTM
Years at Hi Form: Start in August 2022
People should contact you about: My interest in Equine Nutrition stems from having "great grass" and finding the right balance to supplement when your grass is high in one element and low in another. Helping owners work out a diet plan to compliment the roughage intake and fill any gaps in nutritional value is my goal.
Tell us a bit about your own horses: Frankie is my young QH gelding. He is willing and kind and a very sensible 4 year old. I have started showing him in Ranch versatility classes (Ranch Riding, Ranch Reining, Ranch trail and confirmation). I have Poppy who is my previous show horse and is a very pretty Appaloosa hanging out with her friends in the paddock. I also have a QH mare in foal called Vegas who is in foal to a reining bred stallion.
Favourite horse related memory: I have so many I don't know where to start. I am still creating new ones. My memories growing up with my horse Coke are some of my favourites. We used to leave home in the morning, ride all day and have so much fun . He was a fit little all rounder who performed whatever discipline I felt like doing for the day. We weren't fantastic at any of them but we had fun trying.
Something most people wouldn’t know about you: I am also an Equine Veterinary Nurse.
What do you do on a day off? I ride, do yoga, work on my farm, study, go to clinics with friends or see my family. These are my favourite things in life.
Favourite thing about working for Hi Form: This is a great opportunity to work with an Australian company that is run by like minded people. I was instantly drawn to the staff's enthusiasm and pride in what they do. Helping other horse owners in unravelling the confusion around feeding is also important to me.
